Q&A: Am I Masturbating Right?

Ask us Anything_www.callmeharlot.com.jpg

I started masturbation a few months ago after my friend told me she did it. I've looked at loads of different websites and tried the techniques, and I don't know if I'm doing it right and just not being patient. After a while, I just start shivering uncontrollably, and it's quite uncomfortable. I never manage to orgasm, and it's just kind of boring and weird. I don't like twitching as I masturbate, and I need help - do I need to hang in there and keep going? Or do I need to change my technique?

Sincerely,

Am I Masturbating Right?

Dear Am I Masturbating Right,

Welcome to the world of self-pleasure. Let me begin by telling there is no wrong way to masturbate, and it is very unlikely you are doing it wrong. The shivering/twitching reaction you have? Totally normal, just the body’s nervous system reacting to stimuli. For many this is usually a sign of an impending orgasm, However, if it doesn’t feel good, then it’s not a good twitch/shiver. I can’t tell you what will make you orgasm or feel good, but all I can recommend is keep trying and experiment! But please only use things that are meant for masturbation for sanitary and health reasons. No one wants a trip to the ER. Just hang in there, experiment and patience. That is my prescription to you.

Best,

Bethany
